Fresh Green Beans with Shallot Butter Sauce

I have been making this dish at Thanksgiving for more years than I can remember. My family loves it and it's so easy because you can make the sauce a day or two in advance!

1 stick butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2/3 cup thinly sliced shallot
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 lbs green beans, trimmed
1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
toasted sliced almonds, for garnish
