A British Bakery Favourite: Belgian Buns with Lemon Icing

150 ml (2/3 cup) milk
50 g fresh yeast ( see note 1 )
50 g (3 tablespoons) butter ( melted )
2 eggs ( beaten )
375-450 g (3-4 cups) bread flour
30 g ( 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon brown sugar )
30 g ( 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon white sugar )
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar ( see note 2 )
Pinch of salt
25 g (2 tablespoons) butter ( melted )
Lemon zest ( optional )
100 g (1/2 cup) raisins ( or other mixed fruit )
Around 200g ( 2 cups icing sugar )
1 tablespoon lemon juice ( optional )
