Almond Coffee

It’s fun to make flavored coffee from regular coffee instead of buying flavored coffee beans, since we can make one cup at a time!

1 cup brewed black coffee
1 tablespoon almond butter
Mix 2 tablespoon coffee and almond butter in a blender, then mix in the remaining coffee. If the blender is too big for a small amount of liquid, you can put in more coffee with the almond butter. Alternatively, mix the almond butter with a little coffee in a small bowl using a fork or spoon, then mix with the rest of the coffee. Stir well before drinking. Some almond crumbles might sink to the bottom depending on the kind of almond butter you use. Filter before drinking if you like. (Optional) Add milk or/and sugar as you wish.

Paired with a side of cornbread, this is a simple and affordable dish to enjoy year-round!

3 slices thick cut bacon
1 small Vidalia onion
2 cloves garlic
2 15.5 oz cans diced tomatoes
1 T sugar
2 t fresh thyme leaves
1 dried bay leaf
1/2 t apple cider vinegar
1/2 t Worcestershire sauce
2 c fresh or frozen okra
salt and pepper ( to taste )
