Almost Tiramisu Double Espresso Chocolate Layer Cake

Cake:
120 g (1 cup) good quality ( over 70% dark chocolate )
1/4 cup freshly brewed espresso ( I used Etiopia Blend Forte )
80 g (1/3 cup) butter ( softened )
150 g brown sugar ( ¾ cup + 1 tablespoon )
75 g white sugar ( ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons )
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
¼ cup whipping/single cream
30 g (¼ cup) cocoa powder
200 g plain all-purpose flour ( 1 + 2/3 cups )
1 (¼ teaspoons) baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
!Coffee Syrup:
3 tablespoons brewed espresso ( I used Etiopia Blend Forte )
40 g (¼ cup) brown sugar
1/4 cup water
!Frosting:
250 g (1 cup) mascarpone
200 g (2 cups) icing sugar
