1 1/4 oz envelope active dry yeast


1 teaspoon sugar


5 cups flour


3 tablespoons sugar


5 teaspoons baking powder


1 teaspoon salt


1 teaspoon baking soda


1/2 cup cold butter, cubed


1/2 cup shortening, cubed


2 cups buttermilk


1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon


2 teaspoons ranch seasoning (I used Hidden Valley Ranch)
