French bread topped with ranch dressing, grated cheese and crispy bacon. So simple and delicious

1 loaf french bread ( split horizontally )
Ranch salad dressing ( I used about ½ cup on top of each half )
Grated cheddar or sharp cheese ( about 2 cups per half )
Bacon ( cooked and crumbled I cook about 14 slices )
Additional ranch dressing for drizzling ( if desired )
