Basic Italian Sauce

1 Tbsp. olive oil
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic ( minced )
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes ( undrained )
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. sugar
Heat oil in dutch oven. Add onion, garlic and seasonings. Saute 5 minutes. Add tomato products, water and sugar. Bring to a simmer. Turn to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring...
