Citrus Chardonnay Cranberry Grilled Cheese
A bit sweet and a bit tart and surrounded by layers of melted sharp cheddar cheese. This Citrus Chardonnay Cranberry Grilled Cheese is layer upon layer of grown-up flavor – literally! – yet takes only minutes to prepare.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add cranberries and onion and saute until tender. Butter one side of each piece of bread. In a small bowl, stir together Citrus Chardonnay Sauce and Smoky Mustard. Spread over opposite side of each piece of bread. Top four pieces of bread with half of cheese, ¼ cup per slice. Divide cranberry onion mixture evenly and place on top of cheese. Top cranberry onion mixture with remaining cheese, divided evenly over the four slices. Top each with remaining bread slice, butter side up. Cook over medium heat until browned and cheese begins to melt. Flip sandwiches over to brown opposite side. Serve immediately.
