Coffee and Walnut Cake with Coffee Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting

Cake:
50 g walnuts ( 1/3 cup )
225 g sugar ( 1 cup + 2 tablespoons )
225 g butter ( 1 cup less 1 tablespoon, softened )
200 g plain all-purpose flour ( 1 + 2/3 cups )
2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
2½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
4 large eggs
2-3 tablespoons milk
Frosting:
75 g butter ( 1/3 cup )
85 g cream cheese ( 1/3 cup )
1/2 tablespoon hot water
1.5 teaspoons instant coffee
3 cups confectioners sugar ( 200-300 g )
Walnuts for decoration ( optional )
~ Pre-heat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease/line 2 x 8" (20cm) cake tins. ~ Using a food processor, blitz the sugar and walnuts together until the nuts are nice and fine. ~ Add the remaining ingredients...
