This corn chowder will become an instant favorite. It's smooth, velvety and tastes amazing!

3/4 cup Butter, divided
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 small carrot, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup flour
3 cups white corn, frozen or fresh
3 cups chicken broth
2 cups half and half
Pinch of fresh nutmeg
