Moist and tender pot roast from the crockpot.

1 (1 lb.) package baby carrots

3 stalks celery, sliced

1 small white or yellow onion, chopped

1 (3 -4 lb.) chuck roast, trimmed

1 tsp. Kosher salt

1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

1 tsp. dried rosemary

1 T. vegetable oil

1 (15 oz.) can beef broth

1 T. beef base

4 garlic cloves, chopped

1 bay leaf

1/2 tsp. dried thyme

1/4 tsp. dried marjoram
