Ham and Bean Soup

Serve up a steaming hot bowl of Ham and bean soup. With a grilled cheese sandwich, it makes a wonderful lunch or dinner.

2 cups of ham and any remaining bones
1 large + 1 medium onion, chopped evenly
2 cups of chopped celery with leaves
2 cups of carrots, sliced into coins
2 large sprigs of fresh thyme
2 large sprigs of fresh sage
Small head of savoy cabbage, shredded
1 (15.5 oz) can of Great Northern Beans, drained (you can use 2 cans if you like)
1 (49 oz) can of Swanson's Low Sodium chicken broth (does not have to be Swanson's) heated to a simmer.
1 teaspoon Salt,
1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper

Place the ham in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Spread the chopped celery, onions, and carrots on the ham. Top with [b]half of the shredded cabbage[/b] then the sage and thyme.
