1 c crushed Corn Flakes cereal
6 T salted butter
1/2 c finely diced onion
1 clove garlic
1/4 c all purpose flour
1 c milk
2 c chicken broth
1 t fresh thyme
3 c diced ham
2 c frozen peas
2 lbs. russet potatoes ( peeled and thinly sliced )
8 oz grated cheddar cheese

Marinated Taro Root

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
