This hamburger steak recipe is seasoned ground beef patties simmered in a savory mushroom sauce. A comfort food classic that makes for the perfect easy dinner option!

For the steaks:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 1/4 lbs ground beef ( I recommend 90% lean )
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp onion ( finely diced )
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp ketchup
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg
1 tsp minced garlic
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
For the gravy:
3 tbsp butter
8 ounces sliced mushrooms ( I recommend cremini )
1/2 cup onion ( chopped )
1 tsp garlic ( minced )
3 tbsp flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste
