For the dough:
2 cups bread flour
4 tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
½ cup shortening, part butter or margarine
1 package (2¼ tsp, ¼oz, 7g) RED STAR Active Dry Yeast
¼ cup water
½ cup milk
1 egg ( separated )
For the glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla
3 to 4 tsp water

Have water and milk at 110°-115°F and all other ingredients at room temperature.
