2 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup onion ( finely chopped )
1 lb ground beef ( I use 90% lean )
2 tsp minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste
28 ounce can crushed tomatoes ( do not drain )
4 cups beef broth
8 ounce can of tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
8 lasagna noodles ( broken into pieces )
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese ( grated )
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese ( shredded )
1/4 cup basil or parsley leaves ( chopped )
  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes.
