Make-ahead Sticky Toffee Pudding – Made with sticky dates this is a super sweet dessert with a rich sponge and absolutely beautiful velvety toffee sauce.

12 g butter ( unsalted )
45 g flour ( plain )
1/2 tsp baking powder
40 g medjool dates
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
40 g demerara sugar
1 egg ( beaten )
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
Sauce:
25 g butter ( unsalted )
40 g demerara sugar
30 ml double cream
