Mexican lentil soup prepared with sautéed onions, carrots, tomatoes, and bacon.

1 lb. green lentils
2 qts. chicken broth
6 slices bacon
1 white onion
3 carrots
3 Roma tomatoes
8 sprigs cilantro
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. salt ( to taste )
