Monkey Tails (Chocolate Covered Bananas)

5 large bananas ( peeled and sliced in two halves )
2 cups chocolate chips ( I used semi-sweet, but you can use whatever you prefer )
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
toppings: chopped peanuts, almonds, coconut, granola or whatever you think would taste good!
