One Pot Spicy Chicken Riggies

Chicken, pasta and peppers in a creamy tomato sauce.

2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
2 red bell peppers, seeded and sliced into thin strips
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup water
16 ounces uncooked rigatoni pasta
1/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
