Peach Cobbler Muffins

I took a basic muffin recipe and tweaked it a bit to come up with a peach cobbler in muffin form. The results were delicious.

2 - cups all purpose flour
1 - tablespoon baking powder
1 - teaspoon salt
3/4 - cup sugar, separated
2 - eggs, slightly beaten
1 - cup buttermilk
6 - tablespoons butter, melted
1½ - cups peeled, chopped, fresh peaches (can also use canned)
1 - teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping:
1/2 - cup all purpose flour
1/2 - cup sugar
4 - tablespoons cold butter
