Peach Scones

Just when I thought these things couldn\'t get any better, they did. I loved the banana scones I made with my daughter, but then we decided to make them with fresh peaches. Oh my goodness! With fresh peaches, these scones went to a new level of yumminess. Treat your taste buds to something special with these wonderful treats!

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 cup fresh peaches, diced
1/4 cup whole milk
1 large egg, beaten with a pinch of fine sea salt, for egg wash
2 tablespoons granulated sugar for sprinkling
