Perfect Orzo

This orzo is so good my family asks for it again and again. A perfect side dish if you want to change things up a bit.

4 tablespoons margarine
1 small onion, chopped fine
3 cloves garlic, pressed
2 1/2 cups chicken stock
1 cup orzo pasta, uncooked
3/4 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
