2 1/2 cups sugar


1 cinnamon stick


1 star anise


3 cloves


2 Tablespoons lemon juice


For the cookie:


4 cups all purpose flour


1 teaspoon salt


2 1/4 sticks of butter (250g total) - chilled


2 eggs


4 Tablespoons cold water
