Slow Cooker Sweet and Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

This is buffalo chicken for beginners - it's a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy. If you like your buffalo chicken on the spicier side, increase the amount of hot sauce.

2 pounds (about 4 large) boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and pepper

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 medium yellow or white onion, chopped

1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and chopped

1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes

1/4-1/3 cup hot-pepper sauce, such as Frank’s, depending on desired level of spiciness

3 T. Worcestershire sauce

3 T. yellow mustard

1 T. unsulfured molasses

1/2 can (or 6 ounces) cola or Dr. Pepper (diet or regular)
