This recipe is easy to make but looks really impressive. I replaced the traditional raw onions with onion powder, which makes this recipe a good choice for those who find raw onions to be unpleasant.

1 cup plain cream cheese, softened
2-3 tbsp mayonnaise
Zest of 2 lemons
1/4 cup chopped capers (drained)
Squeeze of lemon juice
1 tsp onion powder
Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
2 tbsp finely chopped Dill
1 loaf of light Rye bread (do not use end slices)
Smoked salmon (I bought a box from Costco)
Salted butter, at room temperature

In a bowl, beat cream cheese with mayonnaise until smooth.
