A snickerdoodle cookie is soft and chewy, it has to be. No crispy, hard stone cookies allowed. That is the trademark of the snickerdoodle cookies. Soft, pillow-like snickerdoodle dough is rolled in cinnamon-sugar coating.

- Step 1. Mix together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together.
- Step 2. Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well.
