Spicy Mexican Martini

I love love love a Mexican martini, but what I love more is a spicy one. Give it a go, you will be surprised if you are skeptical about how good it is. You will need a few days lead time if you are making your own pepper infused tequila. This can make two smaller martini’s or if you are using a giant margarita glass like I am, just one!

2 oz. Pepper Infused Tequila, feel free to use regular tequila if you are not into the spiciness just make sure to use 100% agave tequila
1 1/2 oz. Cointreau
2 oz. Lime Juice
2 oz. Orange Juice
2 oz. Sprite
1 splash olive juice or more to taste... I like mine dirty!
Jalapeno stuffed olives, or regular ones if you do not want the spiciness
crushed ice
Lime wedges
Coarse salt for the rim if you are so inclined

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
