STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD

1st LAYER
3 cups pretzels, crushed
1 cup butter, melted
Four tablespoons sugar
Mix these ingredients together and press them into the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Take out of the oven and allow the pretzel layer to cool completely. For a special presentation, you could also use individual ramekins.
2nd LAYER
2 - 8 ounces packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
9 ounces Cool Whip
Use an electric mixer to cream together the softened cream cheese and the sugar until fluffy. Turn the mixer off and fold in the Cool Whip. Add this cream cheese mixture to the cooled pretzel layer.
3rd LAYER
One large 6 ounces box strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
2-10 ounce packs frozen strawberries
Dissolve the jello in the boiling water. Add the strawberries to the jello mixture. Stir until thawed and set in the freezer 5 minutes. Pour over the cream cheese mixture and refrigerate.
