Sweet Potato Souffle

My mom has made this Sweet Potato Souffle every year since I can remember and it’s one of our family’s most beloved recipes!

4-5 large yams, peeled and boiled until tender
3 eggs
1/2 cup canned milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
For topping
3 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
