Both types begin as whole oats (groats), from which the outer layer (the hull) is stripped, leaving the fiber-rich bran, the endosperm, and the germ, which is home to vitamins and minerals, antioxidants, and healthy oils. From there, the oats are either rolled or steel-cut. Everyone knows oatmeal is a nutritious ingredient. It is versatile and can be added to different dishes such as pastries and bread.

This porridge recipe is a perfect dish if you want an elevated version of the classic way to cook oats. You may use different kinds of nuts such as almonds and walnuts if you prefer. After all, oats and nuts are a great pairing. They are also brain food.
