This Peppermint Bark recipe is extra yummy because it has whipping cream mixed in with the chocolate. It's also addictive. Pack in 1/4 lb. candy boxes.

This Chocolate Peppermint 4 Layer Dessert is easy to make, festive and delicious!

First Layer
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup crushed nuts ( I like pecans )
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter ( melted )
Second Layer
8 oz cream cheese ( softened )
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Cool Whip from 8 oz container
1 tsp peppermint extract
Third Layer
2 (3.4 oz) packages of chocolate instant pudding
3 cups milk
Fourth Layer
Remaining Cool Whip from 8 oz container
1/4 cup chocolate shavings
1/4 cup crushed candy canes

Cake:
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
3 heaping Tablespoons baking cocoa
1 c. milk with 2 tsp. baking soda stirred in
1 c. boiling water
Mint Filling:
1 3/4 c. powdered sugar
3 Tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1-2 drops green food coloring
Chocolate Ganache Filling:
1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
3 ( ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips )
Just enough milk to make spreadable
Frosting:
1/2 c. butter ( room temperature )
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 heaping spoonfuls quality baking cocoa
Milk for thinning ( to make it creamy, not runny )
