Another, probably truer tale, is that hushpuppies were created by a well-known Black fish cook in the Carolinas about 120 years ago. He would serve these fritters along with fried fish. If you’ve had hushpuppies in the United States, you likely had them with fish. Even some fast-food fish chains serve hushpuppies with their fish. But no matter their origins, they are tasty. This fried cornmeal fritter recipe is a perfect snack and appetizer for the whole family. A tasty appetizer that you can prepare with only a few ingredients. You don’t need to spend a lot of time creating this crispy fried recipe. This southern-style snack is exceptional and a real crowd-pleaser for all ages.

1 cup yellow cornmeal
