Tawa Pulao Recipe

This easy recipe is one of our favorite rice preparations.

For the rice
1 cup Basmati rice
4 cups Water
3 drops oil
salt as required
For the tawa masala
1 capsicum chopped
2 tomatoes chopped
1 onion chopped
½ inch ginger and 3 garlic cloves crushed into a paste
¼ tsp red chili powder
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
2 tsp pav bhaji masala
½ tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp butter
1 carrot chopped
1 Potato chopped
½ cup Green Peas
½tsp lemon juice
chopped coriander leaves
salt as required
To cook the rice Wash the rise well and then soak it for half an hour. Put the rice in a cooker, and pour the water in. Add the salt and oil and stir well. Cook the rice on a medium flame for ten minutes. Stain the rice and cover it. To make the masala In a pressure cooker, steam the carrot, potato and peas. Once steamed, peel the potatoes and carrot and roughly chop. Place a wok on a stove and heat. Fry all the spices with butter, cumin seeds, and lemon juice in the wok for 1 minute. Add all vegetables, diced and cook until soft. Then add the cooked rice and stir well until fully mixed, and serve with chopped coriander leaves to garnish.
