1/3 cup sugar

1/2 tsp. ginger
Cake:
6 Tbsp. butter
2/3 cup brown sugar ( packed )
2 eggs
1/3 cup molasses
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
