3-2-1 Bread (beer bread)

This is the easiest bread recipe you'll ever find, and it's so much cheaper than buying those beer bread mixes! I was given this recipe by our church choir director my first year teaching and living away from family back in the mid-80s. I've been sharing it ever since.

3 c. self-rising flour
2 TB sugar
1 can (12 oz) beer (You can use ales or soft drinks, too. The flavor changes depending on what you use)
Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl. dough will be very sticky. Scrape into well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. For a softer crust, brush butter across to immediately after removing from oven.
