Apple Spice Waffles with Spiced Applesauce

These apple spice waffles combine a myriad of spices with chunks of dried apple to make a decadent breakfast - they taste like hearty slices of apple pie!

For the waffles:
2 and 1/4 cups plain flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
3/4tsp ground cinnamon
1/8tsp ground nutmeg
1/2tsp ground ginger
1/4tsp ground cardamom
1/4tsp ground allspice
2tsp baking powder
1/4tsp salt
1/2tsp vanilla extract
1 and 3/4 cups milk, I used skim
2tbsp vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1/2 cup dried apple rings, chopped into small chunks

2/3 cup applesauce
1/4tsp ground cinnamon
