This is a homey cake. It’s not cute or fancy, but it is simple, delicious, and satisfying.

1 c. dried apricots

1/2 c. (8 T.) butter

3/4 c. granulated sugar, divided

2 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. almond extract

1 ½ c. all-purpose flour

1 ½ tsp. baking powder

1/4 c. milk

2 T. raw sugar (or granulated sugar)
