Asian Inspired Broccoli Slaw

When there is a chill in the air I am always up for a bowl of soup. Somehow that doesn’t seem to fill my belly as much as I would like. So I usually have soup with a small salad. But honestly I get tired of any kind of lettuce really quick. A friend a few years back introduced me to broccoli slaw. I have never heard of it, nor was a very inclined to buy it until she served it to me with a bowl of white chicken chili. (Very similar to Lori’s chicken bean soup) It is just what it says, looks

1 12 oz bag of broccoli slaw
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup sunflower seed
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup canola oil (don't fill to the brim)
1/8 cup cider vinegar
1/8 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil (dark)
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon soy sauce
