Aunt Bee's Southern Style Peas

When we first got married, Uncle Bee told me he wouldn't eat any vegetables except for corn and potatoes. I am pretty certain those don't even count as vegetables ;-) So, I did what any good, southern wife does and added bacon and a smile ;-) It worked. We love these peas as a side for hamburger steak, beef stroganoff and pot roast. Our kids call these peas 'Better than Candy' Peas. I hope your family likes these as much as ours does!
