A true dessert of decadence beginning with a buttery shortbread crust, cookie dough filling, smooth caramel layer, and a rich topping of chocolate! Sounds crazy but they are oh-so-delicious!

Shortbread:
2/3 c. unsalted butter, at room temperature
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. all purpose flour

Caramel Filling:
14 oz. soft caramels, unwrapped
4 tbsp. heavy whipping cream

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:
1 c. unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1-1/2 c. all purpose flour
Pinch of salt
1 c. mini semisweet chocolate chips

Chocolate Glaze:
8 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
