Baked Mac & Cheese Recipe

As soon as the weather starts to cool, I crave warm comfort foods! Growing up, I loved the mac and cheese they served in the school cafeteria but I always had bad luck making it at home. I found this easy recipe from taste of home and tried it – it was a major success!! It was so creamy and the buttery crumbs on top took it over the top. It’s permanently on the meal rotation now!

4 cups macaroni ( cooked according to package directions )
¾ cup butter ( divided )
6 tablespoons flour
4½ cups milk
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon salt
pinch of pepper
¾ cup bread crumbs
