Better Than Treat

This treat is an addiction you won't even begin to understand until you've tried it. Perfect for large gatherings, family get togethers, or neighbor treats at Christmastime.

1 box (22 oz.) Chex cereal, rice or corn
1 bag (2 3/4 c.) shredded coconut
1 bag (2 3/4 c.) sliced almonds
2 sticks butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
2 c. Karo light corn syrup
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
In a large bowl, mix together cereal, coconut, and almonds; set aside. Melt together either in the microwave or in a medium sauce pan the butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly....

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
