Bread Butter Pudding with Strawberry

A delicious mouthwatering dish.

25 g butter, 250 ml milk, 30 ml heavy cream, 6 thin slices of white bread, 2 large eggs, 30 g granulated sugar, nutmeg powder to taste, 8 to 9 sliced strawberries.
Grease a microwave safe baking dish with butter. Cut the crusts of the bread, butter all the bread slices and cut into triangles. Arrange the buttered breads in the baking dish. Gently warm the milk and cream in a pan over a low heat. Crack the eggs in a bowl and mix 3 quarters of the sugar and lightly whisk until pale. Add the warm milk and cream mixture and stir well and strain the custard in a bowl. Mix 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Pour the custard over the breads and sprinkle some nutmeg powder and remaining sugar and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Preheat microwave oven on 180 degree C. Place the sliced strawberries on the bread butter pudding mixture. Place the dish into the microwave oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until the custard has set or the top is golden brown.
