Caramel Popcorn

Great delishly gooey snack. Fun to make with kids but be careful, sugar will burn!! When we made this as kids we had an air popper and we would make I think about 2 cups of kernels. I think one bag of the microwave popcorn should work fine.
6
1 bag Popcorn; plain
1 stick butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup karo light syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 stick butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup karo light syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1. Pop popcorn. It is best to use loose kernels and not a bag of pop corn. Spread across the counter and make sure to discard all the unpopped kernels.
2. Place in a large bowl that will fit in the microwave.
3. In a saucepan, mix butter, brown sugar, karo syrup and salt, and bring to a boil for 3 minutes
4. Add the vanilla and the baking soda. Mixture will look as if it will boil over in pan, but it will not. Remove from heat and pour over the popcorn.
5. Mix well, and place the popcorn bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds 4 times, mixing well in between. Enjoy
