Cheesy Garlic Texas Toast

My familyloves the Garlic Texas Toast you can buy in the freezer section of the grocery store, so I decided to whip up some at home! It was easy and delicious!

1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
8 slices white bread, cut 1-inch thick (you could use regular white bread or french bread)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Italian seasoning, to taste
