Chicken Fajita Soup

4 chicken breasts, cut into strips
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. green chilies, optional
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup flour
4 cups chicken broth
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
8 oz. Velveeta cheese
1 and 1/2 cups half and half cream
Mix oil, seasonings, and green chilies. Pour over chicken strips and marinate for 3-4 hours. Stir fry chicken strips. Saute onion in butter; stir in flour. Add chicken broth, tomato sauce and chicken. Simmer till serving time. Add Velveeta and half and half cream. Heat but don't boil. Serve over baked, fluffy rice with tortilla chips, hot sauce, sour cream, and grated cheese.
