Homemade chocolate cake with coconut macaroon filling and chocolate and vanilla glaze.
For the cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3?4cups granulated sugar
1?2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

3 eggs
1 egg yolk (reserve 1 white for filling)
2 tsp vanilla
1?2 cup shortening
3?4 cup cold water
Coconut Macaroon Filling:
2 egg whites
1?4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup shredded sweetened coconut flakes
1 Tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla
Chocolate and Vanilla Glaze:
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
6 Tbsp milk
4 cups powdered sugar, divided
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
