Corny Turkey Burgers with Cheesy Green Bean Sauce

This recipe was the result of trying to figure out what to do with leftover corn and green beans. My toddler daughter who is not normally a fan of burgers, loved these!

Corny Turkey Burgers
1 lb ground turkey (could substitute beef if you\'d like)
1/2 cup of corn (leftover or canned)
1 tbsp diced garlic (fresh or jarred)
1 egg
2 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp thyme (ground or fresh diced)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground black pepper

Cheesy Green Bean Sauce
1/2 cup green beans (pre-cooked or canned)
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp flour
1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup milk

Makes 6-8 burgers
Corny Turkey Burgers -In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine fresh ground turkey, corn, garlic, egg, mustard, and various seasonings. --Mix well with spoon (or feel free to use your hands!). -Use your hands to form the meat mixture into 6-8 hamburger patties. Set aside on plate. -Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet -Add hamburger patties to skillet and cook on low/medium heat for 5-7 minutes on each side (or until brown in the center) Cheesy Green Beans -While hamburger patties are cooking, add butter to small saucepan on low/medium heat. -When butter is melt, add flour until well combined to produce a thick mixture. -Add cheese and stir until melted throughout. -Add milk and green beans to saucepan and reduce heat. -Heat mixture for 5 minutes or until beans are warm. (Feel free to add milk or flour to make mixture less or more thick). Once finished, place the burgers on the buns, and top with the cheesy green bean mixture. Enjoy!
