I've never been a huge green bean fan. Until I made this. And now I can't get enough!

12 oz green beans, ends trimmed
2 tsp olive oil
kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese, plus more to garnish
